The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or Clery Act, requires colleges and universities to report campus crime data, support victims of violence, and publicly outline the policies and procedures they have put into place to improve campus safety. The Clery Act requires universities to identify Campus Security Authorities (CSAs), who are school officials within the institution who has significant responsibility for student activities and therefore have an obligation to report certain incidents to the Division of Public Safety and Security.
At the University of Michigan, individuals supervising programs involving children are considered Campus Security Authorities, in compliance with the Clery Act.
