To align with University directives and help prevent the spread of COVID-19, all in person activities, events and programs involving children should be conducted virtually and in alternative formats until further notice. These changes will remain in effect until otherwise directed by University of Michigan leadership and public health officials. Please check here periodically for resources and updates to support virtual experiences that align with the Children on Campus policy.

The entire Children on Campus Code of Conduct can be viewed in SPG 601.34.

  • Following the Code of Conduct is mandatory for all adults serving children — this includes faculty, staff, students and volunteers
  • Authorized adults or program staff must follow the Code of Conduct to avoid conduct that could cause harm or be misinterpreted
  • While the Code of Conduct provides a basic description of unacceptable conduct or performance, it does not cover all behaviors that may occur
  • Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct is a serious matter and can lead to disciplinary action
  • Watch for areas of non-compliance. If you are aware of a violation of the Code of Conduct, it is your OBLIGATION to report it.
